Yuya Uemura and Kosei Fujita Forced To Withdraw From NJPW Destruction in Kobe, Kickoff Match Canceled

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) had to make some changes to tomorrow’s NJPW Destruction in Kobe event. NJPW announced that Yuya Uemura and Yushin Hatazawa have fallen ill, so they’ve been forced to withdraw from the show.

Also, Kosei Fujita suffered a knee injury and is no longer able to compete. As a result, Kosei Fujita and Yuya Uemura will no longer compete in the scheduled matchup with Aaron Wolf, Taichi, and Uemura facing Fujita, Ryohei Oiwa, and Zack Sabre Jr.

The bout will now feature Wolf and Taichi vs. Oiwa and Sabre. Also, the kickoff bout has been canceled. Here’s the full announcement from NJPW:

“Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Yuya Uemura and Yushin Hatazawa, who were both scheduled to compete at Destruction in Kobe Sunday, have both been forced to withdraw due to ill health. In addition, Kosei Fujita has sustained an injury to his right knee and will also be unable to compete.

We apologize to fans who were looking forward to seeing all three wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. The following changes have been made to Sunday’s card:

* 4th Match: Aaron Wolf, Taichi & Yuya Uemura vs Kosei Fujita, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.–> Aaron Wolf & Taichi vs Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.
* Kickoff Match has now been canceled.”

NJPW Destruction in Kobe takes place tomorrow (Sept. 27) at the Kobe World Memorial Hall in Hyogo, Japan. It will stream live on NJPW World. Here’s the updated lineup:
