Zaria Retains Women’s North American Title On WWE NXT

Zaria is still your NXT Women’s North American Champion, retaining the title against Thea Hail on this week’s episode of WWE NXT. Tuesday night’s show opened with Zaria defending her championship against Hail, a match that was set up on last week’s show when Hail pinned Zaria in a tag team match.

Hail went on the attack from the bell, trying to put Zaria in her kimura lock to no avail. Zaria then took over but Hail managed to get her submission hold on for a few moments, only for the champion to roll through. Hail managed to get her opponent on the ropes a couple of times, including a crossbody and Exploder suplex for a two count, and toward the end she locked in the kimura in the center of the ring. However, Zaria was able to power out and hit Hail with a spear and F5 to retain the title.

You can see clips from the WWE NXT match below. Zaria has been NXT Women’s North American Champion for 113 days, having won it from Tatum Paxley on the June 9th episode of WWE NXT. She unified the title with the WWE Speed Women’s Championship at NXT Heatwave on August 30th.
