Jeremy Stephens Discusses His Victory Over Renan Barao

On Beating Renan Barao:“I felt amazing. When I’m in there, I’m pretty much blacked out with a gameface of just, ‘Go forward and crush it.’ I just felt confident in the rounds. My coaches tuned it in really good tonight, I heard everything that they were saying and throwing everything with bad intentions and moving forward and putting it on him. That’s what I wanted to do and I got it done.”

On Barao Being a true Champion: “T.J. Dillashaw – another great former champion – he put it on him,” Stephens said. “He was able to just go forward and not be bullied. He utilized a lot of swift techniques and he broke Barao. Barao had tremendous training camps for that and he was able to TKO him twice. I hit a lot harder and I wasn’t able to knock him out or TKO him. It just goes to show the true champion that Barao is.”
