Daniel Bryan Did Not Retire to Get Out of His WWE Contract
– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shot down apparent speculation that Daniel Bryan may be using his retirement in WWE as a way to get out of his current WWE contract and possibly wrestle again on the independent scene. Despite recent information Bryan revealed to the media regarding his health and having post-concussion seizures, some people apparently still believed that Bryan might still try to wrestle again outside of WWE despite his recent retirement. Before Bryan announced his retirement, he claimed that he was medically cleared to perform by several doctors, including a doctor from UCLA.
According to Dave Meltzer, Bryan retiring is not a clever way to get out of his WWE contract and outsmart Vince McMahon. Retiring would not end WWE’s freeze on his contract either. Bryan retiring in no way changes the terms of his existing WWE deal.
