UPDATE: Here is more from Matt Hardy’s interview with WZ:

On how he felt having his family the ring for his TNA Championship celebration: “It was really incredible. When you think about being a professional wrestler and you think about winning a world championship. Being the face of an organization, being considered the man… in an ideal situation I think in your home and in front of your fans and having your family there. I was able to do all of those things. My Dad is 80 years old and my son is going to be four months old next week. I’m so happy that they are both alive to be there with me. To have my wife and my brother who was the referee was truly like a fairy tale ending to my quest to winning the world title. It was very, very cool.”

On whether he was always planned to be in the match: “No. I don’t think that was the plan all the wile. It had been obviously kind of the game plan a few weeks out before it actually happened on TV but I don’t think that was the initial plan. TNA found themselves in a tricky situation with the Destination America television deal. Does it continues through the end of the year? I think they were kind of iffy on which way it was going to go there. So, I think things changed on the fly and that’s one of the things you have to do as a professional wrestling promoter and as booker as well. You kinda have to be able to change things on the fly. All the chips kind of fell in to place to have for me to have a great moment that evening. I am very happy it happened. I’ll look back on that and I’ll be able to show my son that when he gets older. I will always treasure that moment.”

On a potential WWE return at some point: “I will wave the TNA flag proudly as their champion. That’s what I plan on doing when I win this tournament. As far as the WWE and returning? I think WWE knows that both Matt & Jeff Hardy are in great places in their life. The best they’ve ever been. We’re both still very capable of going. As far as the future goes? I’m not going to say. “No,” to anything. I’ll just say, “Never say never.” One thing that is very exciting and unpredictable about professional wrestling is that anything can happen.”

ORIGINAL: In an interview with Wrestlezone, Matt Hardy gave his reaction to The Hardy Boyz getting mentioned during Steve Austin’s live WWE Network podcast with Edge and Christian. Here are highlights:

On getting mention during the Stone Cold podcast: “Typically WWE doesn’t acknowledge the top guys of the competition. It’s very flattering, it’s humbling. I think it goes to say, WWE is like, ‘Hardys, you started here and good luck, we love you.’ It’s always nice to be recognized, but right now Jeff and I are kinda grinding away, we gotta little more time on our TNA deals and our job right now, our priority is to try and improve the TNA brand as much as possible. And my immediate goal there is to win back the title, and be the champion that kinda leads them into a new era and hopefully really get momentum and try and make all their numbers go up. That’s what I want to do, that is my goal.”

On how much time they have left in TNA: “Jeff is going through a couple of things because of his injury, but we’ve got a few to several months left.”
