Steve Romero, alongside Josh Matthews, welcomes us to Velocity.

Opening Match: Gunner Scott vs. Lawrence Tyler
Scott comes out to a nice little pop. Already waiting in the ring in Lawrence Tyler, whose name isn’t anything like New York Giants great Lawrence Taylor. They lockup to start, and Scott drags Tyler over him and into the turnbuckle. They lockup again, but Tyler goes behind and applies a hammerlock. Scott reverses the hammerlock into one of his own. Tyler attempts to fight out on two separate occasions, but is unsuccessful. Tyler hits an elbow to the head of Scott, and applies another hammerlock. Scott fights by grabbing Tyler’s head and throwing him to the mat. Tyler gets back to his feet, and Scott shoves him into the turnbuckle and stomps away. Lawrence gets back up, but Gunner throws him to the opposite side of the ring. Scott hits a big clothesline for a two count. Gunner picks Tyler up, whips him into the ropes, and nails a dropkick for another two count. Scott nails a few punches and whips Tyler into the turnbuckle. Gunner charges and misses an elbow as Tyler moves away. Tyler hits a kick to the gut of Scott, and hits a suplex for two. Scott gets right back up, hits a few right hands, and hits a Russian leg sweep for a two count. Gunner whips Tyler into the ropes, but Tyler counters with a kick to the gut as he comes off of them. Tyler charges and hits a clothesline, to the dismay of the crowd. Tyler applies an armlock as a small “Gunner” chant starts. Scott gets to his feet, but Tyler throws him to the canvas. Tyler applies another armlock, but Gunner fights out. Tyler springs off the ropes and Gunner hits an overhead belly to belly suplex. Gunner now springs off the ropes and hits a couple of shoulder blocks and an elbow. Scott picks up Tyler, and hits a back suplex and then a NASTY German Suplex. Gunner taunts to the crowd and hits a DDT for the pin at 4:54.

Winner: Gunner Scott
Rating: *1/2 – Not bad for a squash match.

Gregory Helms vs. Shawn Osborne
Helms enters the ring to virtually no heat whatsoever. Waiting in the ring already is Shawn Osborne. They lockup, but Helms quickly counters by shoving Osborne into the ropes. Another lockup leads to a headlock by Helms. Helms sends Osborne into the ropes, but Shawn hits a shoulder block as he comes off of them. Osborne locks in an arm wrench and sends Helms into the turnbuckle. Osborne charges, but Helms counters with an elbow. Gregory climbs upon the second rope and hits a missle dropkick. Helms then uses the ropes to choke Osborne. Shawn makes his way into the turnbuckle, but Helms follows and this time chokes him with his foot. Main Event: Funaki & Scott 2 Hotty vs. Kid Kash & Jamie Noble
I think this is the third time that I’ve reviewed this match. Kash & Noble come out to no reaction at all, while Scotty and Funaki enter to a HUGE pop. Nash and Noble attack Funaki and Scotty as the match gets underway. Noble sends Scotty to the outside, while Kash works on Funaki. Noble and Kash both whip Funaki into the ropes, but Funaki hangs on. Kash charges, but Funaki hits a dropkick, and then gives a bulldog to Noble. Funaki applies an arm wrench to Noble, and then kicks his arm. Another arm wrench leads to an arm drag and then an arm bar. Scotty tags in and delivers a kick to the ribs of Noble. Now Scott applies an arm wrench, but Noble reverses it into one of his own and barks at Scotty. Scotty kicks up and reverses out of it, but gets whips into the ropes and runs into an elbow. Kash tags in and charges, but Scotty gets up and hits a hip toss. He hits two more and then applies an arm bar. Kash leads Scotty to the corner and pounds away. Scotty fights back with a few right hands and throws Kash into the opposite turnbuckle. Scotty gets on the second rope and delivers a few right hands to the head of Kash. Noble runs in to break it up, but Scotty hits a double axe handle on him off the second rope. Scotty taunts to the crowd, but Noble distracts him and Kash hits a backbreaker from behind for a one count. Kash nails a few headbutts to Scotty’s head, and then slams his head into Noble’s foot. Noble tags in, and both Kash and he give a slap to Scotty’s chest. Noble nails a scoop slam for a two count. Noble applies a camel clutch as Scotty attempts to take Funaki in. Noble breaks the hold and sends Funaki to the floor. Funaki rushes back in and argues with the referee. Meanwhile, Kash comes into the ring and the two pound away on Scotty behind the referee’s back. Scotty fights back with a few right hands, but can’t make the tag as Noble drags Scotty towards the opposite corner. Kash tags back, and hits a snapmare and then a kick to Scotty’s kidney. Kash applies an abdominal stretch as “Scotty” chants start up. Kash breaks the hold and tags Noble in. They whip Scotty into the ropes and hit a double shoulder block. Kash runs over and knocks Funaki down from the apron and starts barking. Noble covers Scotty for two. Noble picks Scotty up, and goes for a suplex, but Scotty catches him off guard with a small package for a one count. Noble gets right back to his feet and nails an elbow for two. Noble applies a front face lock and hits an elbow to Scotty’s head. Noble twists Scotty’s head, but Scotty gets to his feet. Scotty hits a few kicks to the midsection of Noble and goes for the tag, but Noble holds him back. Noble misses a swing at Funaki and picks Scotty up. Scotty counters with a back body drop and is finally able to make the tag to Funaki. Funaki vaults over the ropes to land on Noble. Kash runs into the ring, but Funaki nails a punch to his gut. Funaki hits an inverted atomic drop onto Noble, and ducks a clothesline by Kash and gives him an inziguri. Noble makes his way into the corner, but Funaki charges onto him and throws him to the canvas. Funaki climbs upon the top rope and hits a cross body for a two count, as Kash breaks it up. Scotty makes his way back into the ring and sends Kash to the outside. Scotty turns around, Noble picks him up, and he gives him a sweet gutbuster. Scotty rolls out of the ring and to the outside. Just like Scotty did earlier in the match, Funaki catches Noble by surprise and gives him a small package for a two count. Funaki gives Noble a kick to the gut and then sends him into the corner. Funaki climbs upon the second rope, but Noble throws him off and gives him a dropkick. Noble picks Funaki up and places him upon his shoulder while Kash climbs to the top of the turnbuckle. Kash dives off with a clothesline and Noble makes the cover for the victory at 9:33. They need to push Noble and Kash as soon as possible. The two are great in the ring, have a decent gimmick, and would put on a great match against London and Kendrick.

Winners: Jamie Noble and Kid Kash
Rating: ** – Nice little tag match, but Kash and Noble got in way too much offense to give this a higher rating.

Overall: Not necessarily a bad Velocity, but there was nothing worth watching either. The tag match was solid, but Scotty and Funaki didn’t get in much offense at all. The first two matches were squashed, but were watch able.
