Logan Director James Mangold to Write, Direct Boba Fett Movie

James Mangold is set to write and direct a standalone Boba Fett movie within the “Star Wars Story” anthology series for Lucasfilm. THR reports that Mangold (Logan, Walk the Line) has been tapped to write and direct the film, which is back on track at Disney and Lucasfilm.
Boba Fett of course debuted in the Star Wars Holiday Special before appearing in live-action form for the first time in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. The character quickly became a fan favorite and had his backstory and origin explained in the prequels. Josh Track and Simon Kinberg were previously working on a Boba Fett movie, which derailed around the time that Trank’s Fantastic Four released.
Meanwhile, the latest Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story, is out now in theaters. You can check out 411mania’s official review of the film RIGHT HERE.
