Oscar Isaac To Star In Adaptation Of Graphic Novel Ex Machina
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar Isaac is set to star in the upcoming adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s graphic novel Ex Machina. This isn’t the first time Isaac has appeared in something that title, as he was in the 2014 film of the same name. However, the adaptation of the Vaughn story will be re-titled The Great Machine.
Isaac will produce with Jason Spire and Vaughan. Legendary picked up the rights recently and it will be part of its three-year deal with Vaughan for film and TV. The script will be written by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel.
The comic debuted in 2004 and ran for 50 issues through DC Comics’ Wildstorm brand. It followed former superhero Mitchell Hundred (Isaac), who becomes the mayor of New York City after 9/11. He has the power to talk to mechanical devices. “Great Machine” is the name of the superhero Hundred was before he becomes mayor.
