Watchmen Story Editor To Write Marvel’s Blade Film

The arrival of Blade into the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be penned by the story editor for HBO’s Watchmen series. THR reports that Stacy Osei-Kuffour will write the film for Marvel Studios following a six month search that featured meetings with various writers to find the right person for the film.

According to the site, star Mahershala Ali was involved in Marvel’s search for the film’s writer. Osei-Kuffour will be the first Black woman to write an MCU film. In addition to being a story editor and the writer of the episode “An Almost Religious Awe” on Watchmen, she was story editor for Amazon’s Hunters and an Emmy nominee for her writing on an episode of Hulu’s PEN15.

Plot details on the film are obviously not yet known. Ali is bringing the character into the MCU after the previous film franchise starred Wesley Snipes.
