AEW Dynamite Ratings Increase While Viewership Drops, NXT Gains Increase in Numbers
– Showbuzz Daily has the overnight ratings for this week’s Wednesday Night Wars battle between AEW Dynamite and NXT. The see-sawing trend for Dynamite numbers continued. Last week, viewership was slightly up, but ratings were down. This week it was the opposite. There was a slight viewership drop, while ratings were slightly higher for Wednesday night. Also, NXT managed some increase in numbers after last week’s significant drops.
Dynamite’s overnight audience fell slightly this week by about 11,000 viewers. Last night’s episode drew an average audience of 757,000 viewers. That’s down from last week’s audience of 768,000 viewers.
NXT managed to climb back up over 600,000 viewers after last week’s episode fell below that mark. The USA Network broadcast finished with 678,000 viewers, increasing from last week’s 597,000.
In the P18-49 key demo, AEW Dynamite managed to climb back up in the ratings. This week’s episode finished with a 0.30 rating, which is up from last week’s 0.28 in the same key demo. The TNT broadcast managed to more than double the rating for NXT in the same demographic this week, which was 0.14. NXT’s rating slightly went up from the 0.13 rating for March 17.
Multiple reports have indicated that NXT will be moving off of Wednesday nights to Tuesday starting next month. NXT’s regular move to Tuesday is reportedly going to start on Tuesday, April 13 following WrestleMania 37. NXT will then air every Tuesday night from that point on for the USA Network. This means that AEW Dynamite and NXT will no longer be running head-to-head every week.
AEW Dynamite kept its No. 6 spot this week for the Cable Top 150 rankings. Meanwhile, NXT placed No. 29 after falling to No. 42 last week. MTV’s The Challenge: Double Agents topped the ratings for Wednesday night with a 0.56 in the key demo. Tucker Carlson Tonight on FOX News topped the viewership for the evening with 3.138 million viewers.
