Swerve Strickland Discusses New Horror Film Role, Sneak Peek Trailer
AEW star Swerve Strickland will soon be appearing in an upcoming horror short film titled You Promised. During a recent interview with Josh Nason of the Wrestling Observer, Strickland explained how he got involved in the project and what fans can expect (per Fightful):
“The film is called ‘You Promised.’ It’s a short film, horror film. We filmed it out in Ventura, California. That was one of those music connections. A buddy of mine, he worked in the studio and he just connected with all these people. A friend of his who shoots films does a lot of short films mainly based in horror. We were supposed to do it together but he got called to go do a performance out in San Diego that weekend so it ended up just being primarily me in this role. So they switched around some of the actors and the roles and the producers to actually act in the scenes and I got put into another big role. It was directed by a friend of mine, Matthew Hersh, check him out, he’s a really talented individual and really blowing up in the directing game as far as horror films and short films. I don’t want to spoil too much about it, but there’s a lot of supernatural, drug dealing, crime-oriented, espionage type of genre. So we’re mixing multiple different genres. I’m a bad guy in it, so it was really great experience. I can’t wait for it to come out. I’m not sure exactly when it is but they’re probably going to put out some information on when it’s going to be released soon. I pretty much get dragged across the floor by the throat of a ghost. That’s the scene that you all see me putting out there”
