Lady Gaga is in early talks to join Joaquin Phoenix in Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel, which will reportedly be a musical. THR reports that the singer and House of Gucci star is in negotiations for the sequel, which Phillips teased last week with the potential title of Joker: Folie à Deux.

According to the report, if Lady Gaga signs on for the Joker sequel, she would be playing Harley Quinn. THR also notes that Phoenix is not officially signed yet and is still in negotiations with Warner Bros. to close a deal to return. The report also notes that the new film will be a musical, per sources.

Details on how Harley would factor into the film are being kept under wraps. Joker famously indoctrinated Harley (then Harleen Quinzel) into falling in love with him when she was a psychiatrist treating him at Arkham Asylum. The first Joker ended with Pheonix’s Arthur Fleck committed to Arkham State Hospital after murdering talk show host Murray Franklin, though he escaped from his room at the end and was being chased by orderlies.

The first Joker grossed 1.074 billion worldwide and won Phoenix an Oscar for Best Actor.
