Tobin Bell Returns In First Saw X Image, New Release Date Set

Saw X will return to the early days of the franchise with Tobin Bell, and the film has a new release date and first image. Lionsgate has announced that the tenth film in the venerable Saw franchise will now release on September 29th, up a month from the originally-set October 27th release date. They have also released the first image of Bell returning as John Kramer, which you can see above.

The Kevin Greutert-directed film is written by Peter Goldfinger & Josh Stolberg and is set between the events of Saw and Saw II. The newly-revealed official synopsis reads:

John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. The most disturbing installment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.
