Japanese Women’s Promotion Sukeban Reveals Its World Championship

The new Japanese women’s wrestling company Sukeban has revealed its World Championship belt. The promotion, which held its debut show in New York City last month, sent along photos of the new championship belt in a press release. You can check out a photo of it below.
The announcement reads:
Sukeban Unveils World Championship Belt
Sukeban, a Japanese female wrestling league, today released images detailing its World Championship belt, designed by Marc Newson with an illustration by Ayako Ishiguro, featuring seminal moments and people in wrestling history.The main plate is made in cloisonné work by hand in Beijing and mounted onto white shagreen leather in a Paris atelier.
The belt was unveiled before the live audience by Sukeban Commissioner Bull Nakano at Sukeban’s sold out World Premiere event in New York City on September 21, which was attended by Newson. Bull Nakano’s iconic leg drop is featured prominently in the belt’s design.
The first champion will be decided at Sukeban’s next event when Ichigo Sayaka takes on Commander Nakajima.
