Elijah’s EP that released during his time in WWE went to #1, and the TNA star doesn’t get why the company didn’t capitalize on it. The former Elias released Universal Truth in fall 2020 and it went to #1 on the iTunes Charts. Elijah spoke in an Inside the Ropes video and talked about the IP and how WWE handled it.
“They have their own talent write a number one iTunes album, and they almost don’t make any mention of that ever, you know what I mean?,” Elijah said (per Fightful). “I don’t understand why you don’t capitalize on that, and because they’re all about crossover and they’re all about whatever, send me to the Country Music Awards. It’s like, then let me be a representative for WWE as we move to this music stuff, and who knows who we’re connected to and you know, it’s just good branding and stuff if you ask me.”
He continued, “But it was like three weeks later… they don’t even mention it on TV anymore, and then when I try to write it into my promos, and just say, ‘Hello! I am Elias, number one iTunes artist.’ They’re like, ‘Well, maybe just cut that out.’ I couldn’t understand it, because they invested in the whole music project in the first place… In my opinion, they got it to number one, and they just didn’t wanna do anything with it. It was so weird to me. So it’s another instance where I’m like, ‘Man, if the crowd was there, this could be a whole different story.’”
Elijah is now part of the TNA roster and has is out of action after undergoing tricep surgery.
