Update On Slower WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales, WWE’s Reaction To Situation

WrestleMania 42 tickets are selling slower than in previous years, and a new report has updates on the ticket numbers as well as WWE’s reaction. The WON reports that as of this morning, night one of WrestleMania 42 has distributed 36,964 tickets while night two has 36,737 out. WrestleMania 41 had over 44,000 for both nights at the same point.
The report notes that about 700 tickets were moved since CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ promo that made their match official. That number includes both paid tickets and comped tickets; while WWE has pulled back a lot on comped tickets for family and friends, a number of business partners of WWE do get comped tickets. Regardless, that is a relatively small number considering the match announcements usually spike ticket sales.
As most have, the WON attributes the slower ticket sales to the higher pricing of tickets for the show. WWE has raised prices quite a bit in the TKO era, which is good for their profits but can hurt attendance. Dave Meltzer also notes that tourism is down in Las Vegas, which is a factor. The report notes that from December 2024 to December 2025, tourism in the city was off 9.2%, including a 23% decline from Canada.
As previously noted, WWE had a meeting earlier this week to discuss the WrestleMania ticket sale situation, and multiple departments were told to find promotions and strategies to boost both ticket sales and momentum for the show. WWE is reportedly planning to keep the ticket prices where they are for now.
Another aspect of the slower ticket momentum is how it is affecting the creative. While creative plans haven’t directly affected the sales with only one match officially announced, WWE’s creative team, headed by Triple H, has been making several changes to their plans per previous reports. The WON notes that the ticket sale decline is a major part of why the cards are being re-evaluated. It is noted that there was frustration around a game plan being in place, which then changed, and now could change again.
One person involved in creative told the site that at this point, they should stick with the plan they have because it’s a good one. While WWE has not “officially” announced it, CM Punk essentially confirmed on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast that his match with Roman Reigns will main event night two.
