With AJ Styles’ retirement run taking place in WWE, he didn’t necessarily have that one last match moment with every great opponent from the past. On Talk ‘N Shop Live with the Good Brothers, Styles came on as a guest with longtime TNA opponent Frankie Kazarian, and they had a chance to reflect.

When Luke Gallows got to ask Kazarian if he felt any particular match with Styles was underrated by fans and not talked about enough, it took him a moment. But he did have an answer.

“Dude, we had we had so many good ones, like towards the end when we were doing the character stuff with me and CD [Christopher Daniels] and we had so many cool in-ring promos and just good good stuff. But matches, I don’t think we ever had a bad one. We had so many good ones on like house shows even. You know what I’m saying? Just because we knew each other so well. Yeah. You know, it truly was a night off.”

Then he cut to the chase: “One of the best matches we had, it also includes two other guys. We did one where it was AJ and Kurt against me and CD at a Slammiversary pay-per-view. I think Kurt Angle’s gone on record saying that was that’s has been his favorite tag match of his career. So that right there.”

Styles responded, “It was a lot of fun, dude. So many so many house shows you were just like, ‘All right.’ And we didn’t really have to talk much. We just spent a couple seconds together saying something and then we just went out there and did it. Like, it’s a lot of fun when you’re able to get in the ring and you know each other’s timing with pretty much everything, and and we’ve wrestled so much that we almost call it in the ring.”
