As previously reported, The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) and MFT members JC Mateo and Tonga Loa are gone from WWE. It was said earlier that while Woods and Kingston agreed to mutually part ways, Mateo and Loa had also departed from the company, though it wasn’t specified if they voluntarily exited or if they had been released.
PWInsider has more details on the shocking development. The report is calling Mateo and Loa’s exits as roster “cuts” and releases. Additionally, these are the only expected WWE exits for today.
JC Mateo recently competed for the WWE Tag Team Titles on the post-WrestleMania 42 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. He and MFT member Tama Tonga lost a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles against reigning champions Damian Priest and R-Truth.
Meanwhile, Tonga Loa last competed on the Raw before WrestleMania 42. The MFTs Mateo, Solo Sikoa, and Loa lost to the team of LA Knight and The Usos. JC Mateo and Tonga Loa last appeared on the April 24 edition of SmackDown, where they got laid out by Jacob Fatu after he beat MFT leader Solo Sikoa.
