Chelsea Green is pushing back at criticism from fans over her scheduled appearance at the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest. As noted on Monday night, the UFC announced a number of WWE stars for meet and greets at the fan event ahead of the UFC event that will take place at the White House. Green is scheduled alongside Charlotte Flair, The Miz, Trick Williams, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Bron Breakker, and Tiffany Stratton.
The announcement drew criticism from some fans over the appearances, with Green the focus of several critiques due in part to her support of trans rights and other equality causes. One fan posted a screenshot of a tweet of hers in which she talked about her support of trans people. The fan wrote, “guess the check cleared.”
Green replied to the post and wrote:
“Doing my job and supporting the community are not mutually exclusive. I’ll continue to do what I can to advocate for human rights whether you approve or not.”
The UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest takes place on June 13th and 14th. It will precede UFC Freedom 250, which will take place on the lawn of the White House in Washington, DC and is headlined by Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje.
Doing my job and supporting the community are not mutually exclusive. I’ll continue to do what I can to advocate for human rights whether you approve or not. 💟
