During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, AEW star and ROH World Champion Bandido discussed facing off against MJF for the AEW World Title earlier this year on AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
Bandido stated (via WrestlingInc.com), “I think we have amazing people working in AEW… Working with MJF was like amazing. He helped me. He guided me, and he gave this opportunity to have a lucha against him for the belt. It was like a dream for me… I never think that a person [like] MJF who is a very rude person, that he would say, ‘One day you will become AEW World Champion.'” He continued, “You know? That makes me feel happy and believe that everything is possible in this world. I’m just focused, trying to do my best, and if at some point, someday, that championship comes to me, I will be ready for that.”
The match saw MJF defeat Bandido to retain the title. Bandido will be in action tomorrow at AEW Double or Nothing 2026. He faces Swerve Strickland in the opening round of the men’s Owen Hart Cup tournament.
The event will be held at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view. 411 will also have live coverage.
