Another match has been confirmed for tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.
Earlier today, WWE announced that Penta will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Je’Von Evans on tonight’s RAW.
Here’s what WWE posted on its website:
“Intercontinental Champion Penta continues to build his reputation as a true fighting champion as he prepares to battle the dynamic Je’Von Evans in a title match. Find out who will leave Raw with the title tonight at 8 ET/5 PT on Netflix.”
Penta is coming off a successful defense in a hugely entertaining back-and-forth match against “All Ego” Ethan Page at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV.
Je’Von Evans has been after the Intercontinental Championship for the past few months. The Young OG was a part of the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the IC Title at WrestleMania, but, despite a great showing, he failed to emerge triumphant. That said, Evans recently defeated fellow contender Rusev in a singles match on RAW.
Meanwhile, this will be Penta’s eighth title defense since winning the championship from Dominik Mysterio on March 2. He has since overcome the OG El Grande Americano, Dragon Lee, Dominik, Kofi Kingston, El Hijo del Vikingo, and, as noted above, Ethan Page, in singles contests. The masked wrestler also won the six-man Ladder Match at ‘Mania 42.
Tonigh’s RAW will serve as the go-home edition ahead of the Clash in Italy Premium Live Event on May 31. It will be hosted by the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.
Updated lineup for 5/25 WWE RAW:
– Oba Femi opens the show
– Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. The Judgment Day
– Penta [c] vs. Je’Von Evans for the Intercontinental Championship
– Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu’s contract signing segment for Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy
411Mania will have live coverage of the show, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.
