AEW commentator Tony Schiavone read out a statement from Andy ‘The Butcher’ Williams’ tag team partner Jesse Guilmette, i.e., The Blade, on tonight’s Collision.

Tonight’s episode of AEW Collision kicked off with a 10-bell salute to The Butcher, who passed away last Saturday after collapsing at Enjoy Wrestling’s event. Several AEW talent shared their tributes for Williams during the show.

While The Blade wasn’t in attendance, he sent a statement in which he hailed Andy as the “most talented person” and an even better friend. He thanked fans for their support and All Elite Wrestling for dedicating tonight’s Collision to Andy.

Below is his statement:

“Andy was the most talented person that I ever met. But I think we can all agree that he was an ever-better friend. Andy loved pro wrestling, and Andy loved the fans. Thank you to everybody for the support, and thank you to everybody in AEW for tonight’s event honoring Andy Williams.”
