As previously reported, the United States Embassy & Consulates in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia issued a new security alert yesterday (Oct. 7), warning U.S. citizens to “exercise heightened vigilance” amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, the ongoing security situation in Saudi Arabia and Houthi public threats against airports and airspace in the region. Additionally, it appears the situation is raising further concerns within WWE, as the promotion is scheduled to hold this year’s Crown Jewel in Riyadh on November 7.

F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez provided an update on the WWE Crown Jewel situation today, with the latest WWE status for the premium live event. Alvarez wrote to his subscribers, “Whether or not WWE runs Saudi in November was a big topic of conversation in WWE today.”

Additionally, Reuters reported today (Oct. 8) that Yemen’s Houthi forces claimed responsibility for an attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The attack saw an aircraft catch fire and take damage, and three people have also been killed in attacks on Saudi airports this week.

The U.S. Embassy’s security alert also warned citizens that they should be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. Last month, the U.S. Department of State issued a level three travel advisory for Saudi Arabia, advising citizens to reconsider traveling to the country.

As noted, WWE Crown Jewel is still currently scheduled to be held at the Riyadh Season Stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month. WWE has yet to formally announce any changes in the location or venue.
