Dana White Says Leslie Smith’s Labor Practices Complaint Against UFC Is Not Under His Purview

Dana White briefly discussed Leslie Smith’s complaint against the UFC over alleged unfair labor practices in a new podcast interview. White appeared on UFC Unfiltered this week and was asked about Smith’s complaint, which claims that Zuffa cut ties with her as retaliation for her efforts with Project Spearhead and in order to send an anti-union message to other fighters.

“Apparently she did (file a complaint),” White said. “I don’t know that much about this to talk about it. I literally don’t know anything about it. I know that she’s upset and she filed something. She’s suing us or filed something with somebody. I don’t know. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t focus on that (expletive) anymore. That’s not my problem. Thats somebody else’s problem. I get to do all the fun (expletive).”

Smith also claimed that she was an employee of Zuffa as a UFC fighter and not an independent contractor, as the UFC classifies its fighters. The complaint was filed with the National Labor Relations Act, which protects workers from retaliation for engaging in unionizing activities.
