WWE is seeking potential new recruits at a fitness event in Hawaii over the weekend, as a noted in a new report. KHON in Hawaii reports that the company is setting up a recruitment booth at the 2026 Hawaii Fit Expo, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday in Honolulu.
The event takes place at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and will have the WWE booth staffed with recruiters. The booth will be open both days at the expo, which is described as Hawaii’s “premier sports and healthy lifestyle event.”
The recruitment booths come ahead of reported tryouts planned over SummerSlam weekend on August 1st and 2nd. The article quotes ESPN’s Marcx Raimondi as saying of WWE’s recruitment:
“I think it has changed a great deal. For those watching WWE nowadays, almost all of the younger talent has a background not necessarily in professional wrestling, but in Division I athletics. Back in the ’80s, it was bodybuilders and bouncers. Now they want college football players. There are a lot of gymnasts, volleyball players, and the list goes on and on.”
WWE is presenting two PLEs this weekend: WWE Night of Champions on Saturday morning, and NXT Great American Bash on Sunday evening.
