Djamil Chan Isn’t Worried About His Card Placement For Bellator 161

Djamil Chan spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Richard Patishnock at Bellator 161. Some highlights are below:

On fighting with an injury at Bellator 153: “I had an injury in my knee in the training camp. But it’s do or die for me because I really want to make a living out of this. I have nowhere else to go. When walking from the locker room to the cage, my coach Stefan Lems started telling me, ‘Train tickets! Train tickets! You’ve worked for train tickets, just to train. You wreck people to get you some train tickets to go to training. Do you still want to keep begging for train tickets?’ Then I thought to myself, ‘No, man. I’m never going back again.’ So that was the mindset.”

On his placement on the card: “I think in my case it doesn’t matter really what time I fight. It’s always going to be exciting. If I fight in the morning, if I fight in the night, it’s still going to be explosive. I like to go for the knockout. The knockout for me, in fighting, is the most important thing. My fighting style is based a lot on the knockouts. I only train to knock out. When you look at the game like that, it really doesn’t matter what time it is.”
