Frank Camacho Asks UFC to Give Damien Brown Additional $50,000 Fight Bonus After Missing Weight
As previously reported, UFC fighter Frank Camacho missed weight ahead of his scheduled UFC Fight Night 121 bout with Damien Brown. Camacho won the fight with Brown by split decision, and the fight was awarded Fight of the Night.
However, due to Camacho missing weight, he’s ineligible to receive a bonus for the fight card. As a result, he posted a tweet, asking the UFC to give the the other half of the Fight of the Night bonus that would’ve gone to him to the losing fighter, Damien Brown, instead. That way, Brown, despite losing, would receive $100,000 in bonus money. You can check out Camacho’s tweet below.
According to MMAjunkie, the case would not be Brown receiving the other portion of the Fight of the Night bonus as a result of Camacho missing weight. Karyn Bryant seemed to imply on FS1 that would be the case, but that does not appear to be happening at the moment.
UFC Fight Night 121 was held last night in Sydney, Australia. The card was broadcast live on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. You can check out 411’s coverage and results for the event RIGHT HERE.
I'm not eligible for the Fight of the Night bonus for missing weight. I humbly ask the @ufc to please give @beatdown155 my cut of the 50k. Well deserved for an absolute class act and WARRIOR and taking the fight for his home country! @danawhite @seanshelby 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/0mAjCh7A7b
