Geane Herrera Wants To Revolutionize Flyweight Division
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Geane Herrera (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) spoke about wanting to change the flyweight division. He was a short notice replacement at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale, where he knocked out Joby Sanchez (7-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC). It aired on the FOX Sports 1 preliminary card from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Here are highlights:
On changing the flyweight division: “I’m here to revolutionize the division. As you can see, I’m a guy with a personality, different than what you see altogether. I’m here to shine more light into the division.”
On Demetrious Johnson: “All respect to the champ. He’s earned his spot; he’s a great fighter. But man, you’ve got to be the people’s champ. He’s his own champion. You’ve got to go out there and show your face and shake people’s hand, and he’s not doing enough of that.”
