Baby Slice Kevin Ferguson Jr. Discusses His Bellator 197 Win

Speaking to reporters after his win at Bellator 197 (via MMAjunkie) Kevin Ferguson Jr., aka Baby Slice and the son of Kimbo Slice, discussed his victory over Devon Brock. He won the fight by submission in the first round. Below are some highlights from the media scrum.

Kevin Ferguson speaking to the matchmaker after the fight: “I just asked the matchmaker like, ‘Hey, when can I fight again?’ He was like, ‘You just fought, take some time off, relax.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’ I love it, it’s something I love to do. I might take a couple days off then I’m right back in the gym. Putting in more work and just trying to get better.”

Ferguson on how quickly the fight went: “I thought I was going to do a little more damage than I did. I wanted to. That was the goal. But like I said, when you step in that cage everything is unpredictable. Anything can happen and you’ve just got to be alert and take advantage of your opportunities. I feel like that’s what I did tonight. I’m showing that I’m growing. I knocked him down and then I submitted him, so that shows a lot.”
