Apple to Make Original Content Available Free to Apple Device Owners

Apple will reportedly be making its slate of original content free to owners of Apple devices. CNBC reports that the tech company plays to make all of its content available for owners of devices such as desktop and laptop computers, Apple TV, iPhones and iPads, as part of the Apple TV app.

The content will appear in the app automatically. The app will also offer subscription channels for services like HBO and Starz in a similar way to Amazon and Hulu.

The service is expected to launch in March of next year, with the company spending about $1 billion on original content. The content will be PG-rated and avoid pushing content boundaries the way that HBO, Netflix and other companies have.
