Chris Evans Says Possible Captain America Return Is ‘Not a Hard No’
Chris Evans isn’t jumping back into the MCU at any time in the relatively near future, but if the right story came along he wouldn’t be opposed. Evans, whose run as Captain America reached its conclusion with Avengers: Endgame, was asked if he’d ever be interested returning by Scarlett Johansson during a Variety Actor on Actors interview.
Asked if he’d ever come back, Evans said, “To Marvel?” Evans responds. “You never say never. I love the character. I don’t know … It’s not a hard no, but it’s not an eager yes either. There are other things that I’m working on right now. I think Cap had such a tricky act to stick the landing, and I think they did a really nice job letting him complete his journey. Evans played Steve Rogers eleven times in the MCU and his storyline as Cap seemingly reached its end in Endgame. Of course, in the comic book Cap has become old as well, and they managed to turn that around. There are also of course the possibility of prequels or cameo performances, but from Evans’ comments it sounds like if he does come back, it won’t just be for a quick Easter egg to pop the fans and cash a check.
