Chris Pratt to Voice Garfield in New Animated Film

Garfield is returning to the screen in animated form, and he’ll be played by Chris Pratt. THR reports that Alcon Entertainment is producing the film, which will have the Guardians of the Galaxy star voicing the titular cat. Sony Pictures will distribute the film.

David Reynolds (Finding Nemo) is writing the film with Mark Dindal (Chicken Little) helming. The film will be the latest big-screen adventure for the Jim Davis creation, who was previously portrayed in 2004’s Garfield and the 2006 sequel Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, voiced by Bill Murray.

As previously reported, Pratt is also voicing Mario in the upcoming animated Super Mario Bros. movie.
