D23: Agatha All Along Debuts a Dark & Mysterious New Trailer
Marvel Studios showcased the upcoming series, Agatha All Along, during the Friday studio showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Friday’s presentation featured appearances by cast members, who debuted a new trailer and poster for the series.
On hand were Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, and Patti LuPone, who joined together on stage to sing the Sacred Chant version of the series’ theme song “The Ballad of the Witches Road, written by by Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. They were also on the stage along with cast member Aubrey Plaza, and also joined by Kevin Feige.
The new trailer shares more insight into the upcoming series, which finds Agatha Harkness (Hahn) down and out after losing all of her power at the hands of Wanda Maximoff in WandaVision, but a suspicious goth teen soon helps her break free from a distorted spell. The boy then begs Harkness to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with they desire most. Together, Agatha and the boy assemble a desperate coven, setting off down the Road.
The series is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos, and Jack Schaeffer, who also serves as head writer and director for three episodes. Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Monteiro each direct three episodes of the original live-action series.
Agatha All Along will stream exclusively on Disney+. The first two episodes debut on the streamer on September 18.
