D23: The Simpsons Season 35 Launches in October, Four Exclusive Episodes Coming to Disney+

During today’s Animation Greats panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the cast and crew of The Simpsons announced that the long-running hit show’s 35th season will debut on October 2 on Disney+. They also announced that four never-before-seen episodes will be made available exclusively on Disney+ over the next year, with the first episode, a special Christmas-themed double episode, premiering on December 17, timed to the 35th anniversary of the series’ original Christmas special.

The episodes are titled “The Past and the Furious,” “Yellow Planet,” “O C’Mon All Ye Faithful,” which is the Christmas double-episode. They will debut in the coming months on Disney+. Also in October, Disney+ will be debut an exclusive new Halloween-themed short from the series.

Today’s panel featured series creator Matt Groening, executive producer Mat Selman, executive producer Al Jean, producer and director David Silverman, producer Brian Kelley, writer and producer Mike Price, and Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson. The panel featured an animatic clip from “Yellow Planet” as well, a comedic parody of the nature documentary series, The Blue Planet.

Season 35 will feature 18 new episodes, taking fans back to Springfield for adventures with the Simpsons family. You can check out newly revealed artwork for Season 35 below. All the previous seasons of the seminal animated series, The Simpsons Movie, and more than 10 shorts featuring the iconic family are also available on the streaming service.
