David Ramsey Explains Why Green Lantern Hasn’t Come to the Arrowverse

David Ramsey is, like the rest of his castmates, heading into his last season of Arrow, and has weighed in on why we’ve never seen Green Lantern on the Arrowverse shows. Ramsay has been a regular target of speculation as someone who could eventually become a Lantern in the Arrowverse, something that gained traction during last season’s Elseworlds crossover when the Flash of Earth-90 noted that Diggle was not “wearing your ring.”

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Ramsay was asked how many teams he’s asked Arrowverse EP Marc Guggenheim about what the deal is. “I cannot tell you how many times,” he said. “But really, I don’t have to knock on Marc’s door. He’s been incredibly forthright with letting me know the plan, and letting me know some of the politics behind it. Green Lantern is a tremendously large property, and it’s not easily done. If it was done on TV, imagine the cost. So it’s one of those things where it’s going to take a great deal of preparation if and when it’s ever done.”

Arrow returns for its eighth and final season on October 15th on The CW.
