DC Universe is adding some serious value in the next few weeks, as it plans to double its comic book library by the end of March. The streaming service has announced that they have added over 1,000 comics and plan to further expand on that in the coming weeks.

DC Digital Services senior VP and general manager Sam Ades said in the announcement, “When launching DC Universe, we knew the comic reader was an area that we wanted to expand and provide more choice. Fans want a place to discover new titles and the opportunity to enjoy full arcs of iconic and notable storylines from start to finish. We are listening to fans and responding with an expanded comic book offering that improves the overall DC Universe experience.”

Among the titles trhat have been added are several arcs — including recent ones — of the current Action Comics run, the full New 52 run of Batman and the exceptional “War of Jokes and Riddles” arc from the Rebirth launch, Batman Incorporated, Flashpoint, Gotham Central, the 2000 and 2013 Harley Quinn solo series, Static Shock and more. Set to be added in the next two months are Grant Morrison’s acclaimed Animal Man run, 52, the Rebirth era of Aquaman, and several Batman arcs: “Hush,” “Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?,” and “Year One.”

The announcement will be welcome news for many DC fans. While the service’s original series Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders have both been hits and the classic film and TV library is a blast, a common frustration has been the relatively small amount of comics content. This move will bolster the comics library, providing an opportunity for fans who are on the fence to give the service a shot.
