The Jurassic Park saga continues in its latest installment, Jurassic World Rebirth. Universal Pictures released the official trailer for the upcoming sequel earlier today, which you can view below.

Set five years after the events of the last film, Jurassic World Dominion, it appears circumstances have changed. The planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The remaining ones live in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once lived. The three most colossal creatures in the land, sea, and air in that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that can bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humanity.

Scarlett Johansson stars as covert operations expert Zora Bennett, who is contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure the genetic material. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding dinos, they find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that once housed an undisclosed research facility for the original Jurassic Park. While there, they find a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, and they meet a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the rest of the world for decades.

Mahershala Ali also stars as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s trusted teammate, along with Jonathan Bailey as the paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. Rupert Friend appears as a Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.

The film is directed by Gareth Edwards from a script by David Koepp. A new era is born when Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2.
