Emilia Clarke Identifies Owner Of Infamous Game of Thrones Season Eight Coffee Cup
Emilia Clarke has answered one of the most compelling questions coming out of Game of Thrones season eight: “Whose coffee cup was that?” As you may recall, a coffee cup appeared in the fourth episode of the final season, “The Last of the Starks,” during a feast scene at Winterfell located very near to Clarke’s Daenerys.
There has been a lot of discussion around who left the cup there, with fingers often pointed at Clarke, Kit Harrington or others. It became a viral meme and almost a sort of symbol for many of how they felt the final season missed the mark for a variety of reasons. Now, speaking with The Skim (per Uproxx), Clarke has cleared up whose cup it was.
When the interview asked her what her drink of choice was in the morning, Clarke said, “It’s not Starbucks — spoiler. I’m going to say it again for the record: was not mine. Looking at you Dan Weiss.”
Dan Weiss is better known to Game of Thrones fans as D.B. Weiss, who appeared in the scene along with his fellow showrunner David Benioff as one of the many extras. You can see the interview below:
