Frasier Star John Mahoney Died of Brain Disease, Lung Cancer
The passing of Frasier star John Mahoney was due to brain disease and lung cancer, as well as seizures. TMZ reports that the official cause of Mahoney’s passing on Sunday at the age of seventy-seven is listed as brain disease, lung cancer and seizures. Kidney disease and diabetes are also listed as conditions the actor suffered from.
The site reports that Mahoney was cremated. He is best known for playing Martin Crane, the father of the titular character in the Cheers spinoff. He also appeared in films like American President, The Hudsucker Proxy, Say Anything… and Reality Bites. He had an extensive voice acting career that included Antz, The Iron Giant and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
