HBO is going in on a second Game of Thrones prequel with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. WBD announced on Wednesday that it has given a series order to the new show, which follows House of the Dragon as spinoffs from the main Game of Thrones series.

The new show will be written and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker, with Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis also executive producing. The series is based on the “Dunk & Egg” novellas and is described as follows:

A century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

There are three novellas published: 1998’s “The Hedge Knight,” 2003’s “The Sworn Sword” and 2010’s “The Mystery Knight.” The novellas were collected and published as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in 2015.
