It’s going to be a while before The Last Of Us season two comes around, with HBO’s Francesca Orsi revealing a targeted 2025 release. Orsi is the head of drama for HBO, and she gave an update on several shows in an interview with Deadline.

Orsi told the outlet, “We were looking at The Last Of Us for some time in 2025. And The White Lotus [seasopn three] was ideally looking to go in 2024 but there’s some question about timing of the strike.”

“The strike” is of course referring to the WGA strike, which is impacting several shows. Orsi said that it’s “too early to tell” how the scheduling for specific shows will be impacted by the strike.

Orsi also noted that season three of Euphoria will take a while due to Sam Levinson’s work on his controversial new series The Idol, noting, “Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts. We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol.”

It was noted that House of the Dragon season two is still looking at a premiere next summer and is in production. However, the new spinoff A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is bing impacted by the strike.
