First Hellboy: The Crooked Man Teaser Hints At New Film’s Horror Vibes

Hellboy is getting a new shot at the big screen with Hellboy: The Crooked Man, and the horror-tinged first teaser is online. Ketchup Entertainment released the first teaser for the film, which sees Jack Kesy take on the role of the big guy as he investigates a supernatural case in Appalachia.

The trailer has a much stronger horror vibe than the big-budget dualogy by Guillermo Del Toro or the ill-fated 2019 film, with Hellboy stuck in 1950s Appalachia coming up against the titular monster. “Something in these woods… smells like death,” he notes before we see giant snakes, bloody figures, faces of buried individuals and more.

The film is directed by Brian Taylor from a script he co-wrote with Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. It stars Kesy, Jefferson White, Adeline Rudolph, Joseph Marcell, Leah McNamara, and Hannah Margetson and is described as follows:
