Kevin Smith Says He Wrote a Part In The 4:30 Movie With Sgt. Slaughter In Mind
Kevin Smith’s latest movie is The 4:30 Movie, which has a role he says he wrote for Sgt. Slaughter. The semi-autobiographical film, which released on September 13th, features a character named Major Murder that is played by Sam Richardson. Smith, a vocal fan of pro wrestling, revealed in an interview with PopCulture that he wrote the role for the WWE Hall of Famer.
“I wrote, first draft, was for Sgt. Slaughter,” Smith revealed (per Fightful). “I see him at Cons all the time. Also, he had a condo in our hometown when we were kids. We all knew where Sgt. Slaughter lived.”
He continued, “I saw him at a Con and I say, ‘Hey man, I wrote a big part of you where you give the character the advice he needs to go forward. It’s kind of like the Stan Lee part in Mallrats.’ He was so sweet. He was like, ‘I’m not an actor. I’m a wrestler. If you need me to do speeches, I don’t think I’m your guy.”
The coming-of-age comedy stars Austin Zajur, Nicholas Cirillo, Reed Northrup, Siena Agudong, and Ken Jeong and is currently available on digital to rent and buy.
