The final film in the main Fast & Furious franchise will arrive in 2026, per its director. Louis Leterrier spoke with Collider and talked about plans for Fast 11.

“It’s happening,” Leterrier told the site. “It’s happening very, very soon. I’m able to shoot a little horror movie this summer. I’m finishing my horror movie on September 15th, and I start Fast on September 16th.”

Leterrier came onto the franchise with Fast X, which grossed $714.6 million worldwide after it released in May of last year. He added of the 11th film, “It’s filming early next year, and it’s coming out in 2026, which will be exactly to the day, 25 years since the first one came out.”

In the meantime, Leterrier is working on the horror movie he mentioned, 11817 which is described as follows:

Inexplicable forces trap a family of four inside their house indefinitely. As both modern luxuries and life-or-death essentials begin to run out, the family must learn how to be resourceful to survive and outsmart who – or what – is keeping them trapped.

The 11th film in the Fast franchise is expected to conclude the main series. Fast X ended on a cliffhanger where Dominick Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew had been targeted by Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), the son of Hernan Reyes from Fast Five, who was seeking revenge for his father’s death. Far from unscathed, they got some help from the previously-believed to be dead Gisele (Gal Gadot) while Dante next set his sights on Lucas Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson).
