Maria Sten Joins Cast of Swamp Thing as Liz Tremayne

Deadline.com reports that actor Maria Sten (Channel Zero) joins the cast of the new Swamp Thing TV series for the DC Universe digital subscription service. She will portray the role of Liz Tremayne.

The new show is written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman. The story will follow Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) as she looks into a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana. She soon discovers that the swamp holds some mystical secrets.

Liz Tremayne is a close childhood friend of Abby Arcane, and she splits her time between reporting for the local paper and bartending at her aging father’s roadhouse bar. While she has a no-nonsense attitude, she still has a deep compassion for her friends and family as she sets out on a quest to expose the secrets that threaten her hometown.

James Wan, Verheiden, Dauberman, Michael Clear, and Len Wiseman are executive producing the show. Len Wiseman is attached to direct it. The show is slated to premiere on the DC Universe service later in 2019.
