Matt Smith Joins Sony’s Morbius The Living Vampire Movie

Jared Leto’s Morbius is set to come face to face with another Doctor…or his actor, at least. Doctor Who alumnus Matt Smith has joined the film, according to Variety, in a major role. Details on who Smith will play is not yet confirmed.

Smith is best known as the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who, but has also starred in The Crown, Terminator Genisys, and Mapplethorpe. He will also appear in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Morbius is based on Marvel’s anti-hero Morbius the Living Vampire and will star Leto in the lead role. Daniel Espinosa (Life, Safe House) will direct from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.
