McG Says The Babysitter 3 Is Still Being Discussed

Netflix found a surprise hit franchise with the horror comedy The Babysitter, and director McG says a third film is still being discussed. The film and its sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen were successful original films for the streaming service and helped launch Samara Weaving and Jenna Ortega to become the stars they are today. McG recently spoke with ComicBook.com and confirmed that a third film could be in the works, though there’s nothing solid yet.

“Yeah, we’re still talking about it,” McG told the site. “It was fun. The first movie, obviously, gave Samara Weaving to the world, and the second movie was Jenna Ortega. Hopefully we can answer the call and find a third star that reaches those lofty heights.”

The Babysitter released in 2017 and was followed by Killer Queen in 2020. They star Judah Lewis as Cole, a 12-year-old boy who falls in love with his babysitter only to discover that she’s part of a satanic cult that wants to kill him. The first film also starred Bella Thorne, Robbie Amell, Weaving, Andrew Bachelor, and Hana Mae Lee.
