Mr. Rogers’ Son Says He Was A Fan of Tom Hanks

As we previously reported, Tom Hanks is set to play Mr. Rogers in the upcoming biopic You Are My Friend. Fred Rogers’ youngest son John thinks it’s a good choice, as his father was a fan of Hanks. He told TMZ that Fred enjoyed Hanks’ work, particularly Forrest Gump, having watched the film multiple times.

He added that he has not been contacted about consulting on the film, but he’s open to it.
