Netflix Renews The Witcher For Fifth, Final Season
The Witcher will get another season, with Netflix renewing the show for a fifth and final run. Netflix confirmed to Deadline that the fantasy series has been renewed for one more season beyond its currently-filming fourth, and that the fifth season will be its last.
“It’s official, The Witcher season 4 is in production. But that’s not all, we’re already planning season 5, which will be the final season and bring this epic show to a fitting conclusion. See you on The Continent.”
The upcoming fourth season will feature Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt from Henry Cavill, who left the show at the end of the third run. The fourth season of the show, which is adapted from the Andrzej Sapkowski novels, is described as follows:
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.
