New Free Guy Trailer Turns Ryan Reynolds’ NPC Into a Hero

Free Guy is still hoping to hit its December 11th release date, with a new trailer further detailing the story for the action-comedy. 20th Century Studios released a new trailer for the Shawn Levy-directed film, which gives new insight into how Ryan Reynolds’ titular character Guy makes the journey from NPC in a video game to a hero within it. In the vein of hits such as Wreck-It-Ralph, Free Guy will follow Guy, a lonely bank teller who discovers he is actually a background character in an open-world video game entitled Free City and works to prevent the makers of the game from shutting it down with the help of an avatar.
